About Malta

Malta is a sundrenched island that sits at the heart of the Mediterranean sea, with a wealth of history waiting to be explored. The Maltese Archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean, with Malta 93kms south of Sicily and 288kms north of Africa. Gibraltar is 1,826kms to the West and Tel Aviv is 1,940kms to the East.

Malta is like stepping back in time, there are several world heritage sights that are the oldest known human structures in the world. It is not only the people and the history but also the architecture which gives Malta its appeal. The Maltese islands have been touched by the most influential ancient cultures. What makes them so unique is that their history unfolds before your eyes at every corner, from ancient ruins, and cart ruts to Forts and Palaces; there is something to please everyone.

Malta has a superb climate, the sun shines almost all year round, with temperatures reaching above 30 degrees in summer and hardly ever falling below 15 degrees in winter!

One important factor about Malta is that the island is a very safe place to be, its crime rate is one of the lowest in Europe. Flying to Malta is also easy and safe to do.

Because of its great location, visiting Malta can be an extension of a trip elsewhere, a quick stopover or a week or so to soak in the culture and sights.
Not only will you be able to explore and enjoy the island but you will also be able to purchase a number of local products to remind you of your stay, from lace and honey to pottery and glass. People are even going to the extent of buying property! Buying property in Malta has always been and still is a good investment which has a capital appreciation of approx. 10-12% every year!!

If you like to experiment with various traditional meals, there are a number of local dishes that are worth trying like fenkata (rabbit stew), Bragoli (beef stew in tomato sauce), Hobz biz-zejt (bread with oil and tomato) and if you have a sweet tooth, Helwa is a must!
